1) The radiation source device should be designed with a shielding case, including a lead shielding collimator with uniform gaps and good shielding, and a lead shielding light valve (shutter).
2) The inspection system should be equipped with beam output time protection measures: when the continuous beam output time of the inspection system reaches the predetermined value (such as 10s, 20s, etc.), it should automatically stop beam output and enter standby mode. The system needs to be restarted before continuing to work.
3) Setting emergency stop switches: Multiple emergency stop switches should be installed on the control room console, cabinet, and distribution box, which can cut off the beam output of the radiation device in emergency situations.
4) Set up voice broadcasting equipment: The toll room (control room) should be equipped with voice broadcasting equipment. Used to prevent and remind on-site personnel to evacuate radiation workplaces.
5) Radiation warning signs and warning signs: ① At the entrance of the inspection system inspection lane, set up eye-catching ionizing radiation warning signs on the surface of the radiation source box to warn surrounding personnel not to approach. ② Install video monitoring and sound and light alarm systems, install red, yellow, and blue working status warning lights, sound and light alarms, and video monitoring systems at appropriate positions on the gantry or column. Implement real-time monitoring, work (beam out) status warning, and prevent unrelated personnel from entering the radiation control area At the entrance of the vehicle, signs such as "speed limit signs", "no people inside the vehicle", and "no unrelated personnel are allowed to pass through or enter the inspection channel with the vehicle" should be set up.
6) Regularly clean sound, light, and various warning signs to maintain clarity and visibility.
7) The inspection system using radioactive isotope sources should not only meet the above provisions, but also strengthen the safety management of the sources;
8) Regularly measure the surrounding area of the source storage container, and the specific release energy rate at a distance of 1m from the source storage container should be ≤ 2.5 μ Gy/h;
9) At the end of each day's inspection work, use a dose rate meter to check if the source is safely turned off.
